As a color specialist for most of my career, I understood different textures on that behalf, but also as a fellow curly girl, I truly understood the need to do an amazing blow dry close to the scalp without burning them, also while maintaining a certain amount of bounce and body at the same time. Resistance is key here. Length of the bristle, width of the bristle, and texture of the bristle are essential.
I’m sad to say it took me over 10 years to finally pick up this Ibiza brush, as I’d heard about it years earlier and it seemed a bit excessive in price and difficult to work with — but that was just me judging it from afar. Since I finally dove in 3 years ago, it has not proven me wrong, not once.
Fine hair, coarse hair, thick hair, very little density hair — any size you choose, the white bristle can create beautiful smoothness and incredible shine.
The resistance piece is what I love for that really long coarse hair and that kinky root that you just need to get nice and smooth. Effortless.
I thank Ibiza Brush makers for this beautifully constructed professional and at-home smooth blow dry masterpiece.
Try out their extensive line of brushes that I have fallen in love with as well, to create different looks. There are dark bristle brushes with angular applications to give you more twists and extra movement.
Definitely lots to choose from, so make sure you click the link here and start creating your gorgeous look.

Now, another favorite for my curly girls out of the shower, or even in the shower to detangle, is this lovely Aloha KT7 Kona Travel Brush — ergonomic design, handheld, soft bristle detangling brush. I’m obsessed with this as well.
To say I’m obsessed with their line is an understatement.

With that being said, it is not the end. I’ll be honest — for years I used a bristle brush by Spornette, which I have and still love. It was great on almost every texture. I used it on fine and/or coarse hair. It was perfect.

The bristles were on the long side and they were fairly dense but never too much, and that sometimes offered a slight challenge with very dense hair. Also, the softness was tough if I really needed to get good resistance. Nonetheless, it was great for years.
Hope you enjoyed my thoughts.
