I don’t know about you, but I just want my hair to feel shiny and lustrous. This coming not only from a beauty professional — I’m also an everyday woman going through many hair changes and challenges based off all different factors… here are my findings naming the top 7.
- Hormones
- Diet
- Color and product chemicals — including free radicals in our environment
- Heat exposure
- Age
- Medication
- Funky ingredients in my products
Not to worry… I believe I’ve found a fabulous solution:
Yves Rocher Raspberry Vinegar Rinse
Most of my clients come in begging for shine, moisture, and strength. We’ll talk about the other two later, but shine is my number one gripe.
Lustrous hair happens naturally when you’re a child. Your natural cuticle barrier lies nice and smooth, reflecting lots of light and offering tremendous shine — even when we’re barely doing much.

If you’ve noticed, a child who swims a lot has a ridiculous shine on their hair. This, however, is not a good shine. This is a buildup of chlorine and other sediments.
Fine hair shows more buildup. The lighter the hair, the more you see it and its effect on the hair in terms of color.
Since we’re on the subject of metals and sediments, I don’t think we give enough credit to different minerals that live not only around us but within us. We produce many elements of copper naturally. These elements create barriers on the surface of hair over regular use or exposure.
Now let’s add some age and chemical services like relaxers and color… as well as regular or minimal blow-dry use and curling irons, flat irons, hot brushes, and even tanning beds. All of these things take away that natural luster.
I am pleased to say I found an incredible product that I feel actually does what it says… the first in quite some time.
Yves Rocher Raspberry Vinegar Rinse offers incredible shine. It helps remove the lime scale that builds up on the hair without affecting hair color, natural or artificial.
When it comes to keratin treatments and other coatings, read manufacturers’ instructions just to be sure; however, I can tell you it lasts at least a shampoo or two.
The smell is delicious.
Extremely user-friendly, no matter who you are, and doesn’t seem, in my opinion, yet to have any issues with sensitivity or irritation.
But most importantly, leading from my entire conversation here, is that buildup factor.
Anything I’ve used with shine has some sort of silicone or artificial buildup factor that can almost create a grimy film on the hair.

Worse, it’s too heavy for fine hair and doesn’t play nice with other topical products they want to use. Or even it’s a smell factor — some people are extremely sensitive to that smell.
I’ve also found hair to feel bouncy, manageable, and experience smoother results and a beautiful, easy blow dry.
Definitely get yourself a bottle and a few for some friends. Be sure to come back and let me know what you think. I love sharing our thoughts and ideas. It takes a village.
